“The definition of hospitality” ☼☼☼☼☼ penfold36, UK, 14 August 2010, Trip type: Couples, Date of stay: August 2010 ![]()
Day two of our tour of devon and cornwall. Great hosting from David and Philippa and their eye for detail meant this was probably the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at.
“Excellent”

A really nice B&B, the rooms were lovely, the breakfast was nice and the service was excellent too. There's nothing much within walking distance*, but that was no problem for us. Very good value for money.
*For walkers, Forestry Commission tracks start in Tremadart Woods, just a few minutes' walk down 'our lane'.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of June at Tremadart House as part of a family tour of Cornwall and Devon.
Dave and Philippa were wonderful hosts - warm, welcoming, helpful but not intrusive. We felt completely cossetted and cared for during our stay. The beds were really comfortable and the breakfasts and presentation were first class. We particuarly enjoyed the attention to small detail in every aspect of our stay. Tremadart House is a wonderful country house and it was sheer heaven to wake up in a comfy bed, in a lovely bedroom listening to the birds in the morning.
We visited Fowey, Charlestown, the Cheesewring, Monkey Sancutary, Polperro, Looe and Megavissy travelling out each day from Tremadart House which we thought was a great base to tour from. So many places to visit just not enough days.
We would definitely like to stay at Tremadart House again and we can thoroughly recommend the venue to anybody looking to stay in a traditional English country home with the best of British service. Many thanks to Dave and Philippa for your hospitality.
“For a truly relaxing stay, give this a try!”

What a wonderful 3 days we've just spent at Tremadart House! The whole place exudes style, tranquility and luxury. David and Philippa are excellent hosts and take an obvious pride in their lovely house............and who wouldn't?
The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts are every bit as lovely as other contributors have confirmed.
We travelled by train and spent the whole time exploring the Cornish countryside by an excellent local bus service...........highly recommended for a change!
Give Tremadart House a try; you will not be disappointed!

We stayed at Tremadart house for seven nights David and Philippa Read are wonderful hosts and made our stay one we will remember for a very long time. We choose Duloe as a base so we could visit many of the local attractions like Eden and The Lost Gardens and the local ports. The breakfasts were of a very high standard as were the rooms, the beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in! ...
... I would highly recommend this B&B without a seconds thought.

We highly recommend staying here. Our group consisted of 1 senior, 4 adults, 1 teenager and 1 under 12. The hosts were warm and caring towards our needs and the accommodation was superb. This is the second time we have stayed here and it will not be our last! The breakfast was cooked to perfection and we were given everything we needed. The hosts were incredibly friendly and we had an excellent stay. Thank you!
“Charming hosts, lovely rooms, great value”

Add to the above the large gardens, sunny patio, excellent breakfast, nicely furnished dining-room, sublimely comfortable beds and this tastefully converted farm building makes as good a b&b as you could want in sunny Cornwall.
David and Pippa are extremely helpful and charming hosts. They have an infectious enthusiasm for their b&b and their part of the world and it's nice to be around.
We stayed for 4 nights in early August would definitely return if going back to Cornwall.
“Brilliant!”

This is the most upmarket B & B we've ever stayed in. There were 6 of us including 2 children and an OAP and we had 3 rooms. Our welcome was genuine and warm and our rooms were very well appointed, clean and of a very high standard. There was also a very comfortable resident's lounge. The grounds were lovely and there was convenient parking. The hosts couldn't do enough for us and the breakfasts were spectacular - more than adequate to set you up for the day. ... Our 3 days here were wonderful - very restful - and the standard was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable rooms and facilities, great breakfast in a lovely house nestled quietly in a small village. The hosts were great, available and good conversationalists but not intrusive. Rates were quite reasonable. Highly recommended.
